As mentioned before there are quite a few ways to make money with YouTube. Don't let my list below limit you as there are quite a few other creative ways that people are making money with YouTube. Majority of the ways do involved having popular videos because as you will learn if you can attract a lot of people to a site, website, blog, you can make quite a lot of money. Most businesses and companies see visitors as dollar signs, so always keep an eye out for ways to attract visitors. What makes YouTube better than most websites is that it's a lot easy to get traffic and visitors. Even if you have an awful video chances are you will have still have people stumble upon it. Just imagine if you create an extremely popular video, you'll have everyone wanting to watch it and you'll be able to monetize your video for pure profit! 

1) Enable Revenue Sharing 

As mentioned before, in order to qualify for "Revenue Sharing" you must first have a popular video. If you keep on reading below I'll provide you with some basic steps for making a popular video and how to increase your views and exposure on YouTube. Anyways, getting back to the topic, revenue sharing is a great way to make extra money on the side just for having a video. Once you have qualified for Revenue Sharing you must then sign up for a Google Adsense account. The reason you have to sign up for this account is because all the ads are run through Google and they pay you through Google not YouTube. In order to apply for a Google Adsense account you have to have a website, blog, YouTube page, etc.  Once Google Adsense accepts your application you are ready to start having ads run on your video. YouTube will put the ads on your video automatically, and once they are up you can sit back and relax.

Every time someone clicks on one of those ads, you earn anywhere from $.05-$2.00. The amount of money you make per click (CPC), depends on how many views your video gets, the type of ad being displayed, and some several other factors. You also can earn some money just for having a certain amount of views. Once again I'm not sure on the logistics but all you need to  know is that once you have ads on your page you can start making money. Depending on how popular your video is and how many people click on your ads, you can be making anywhere from $5-1000 a month (Some even make more!). Revenue sharing is a great way to make money with YouTube but it may take some time in order for you to have a video that qualifies for it. How to Create Popular Videos

This is probably one of the most important fundamentals to understand when trying to make money from using YouTube. If you can create a popular video, you can drive in traffic, and ultimately you can turn those visitors into money (if you know how). One of the best parts about having a popular video is that you always have a nice stream of visitors. YouTube likes to display the most viewed videos first, so if your video is high in the rankings, chances are it will stay up there and continue to attract even more visitors. So the key is to make your video popular and attract the most amount of people as you can. The hardest part is coming up with a creative, original, and interesting video. But once you think you have that here are some easy ways to increase your YouTube views:
Have an eye catching thumbnail:

This is one of the first things that someone sees before deciding on whether or not to click your video. If you made a video on how to roller blade but your video thumbnail is a view of the sky (because you accidentally tilted the camera up), chances are people won't click it because they don't think the video is relevant or that it won't be good. Instead your video thumbnail should match exactly what your video is talking about, and should hook people into your video. A better example for the rollerblading video would be an action shot where you are in an intense rollerblading turn. To change your video thumbnail, just click on "Edit" when viewing your video, and you'll be able to choose a different video thumbnail to represent your picture. 

Have a descriptive title:

Not only is your title another way to attract someone to click your video, the YouTube search engine actually uses that information when someone searches for your video. If your title is something like, "Fun", YouTube barely has any idea of what you are talking about. As a result people will probably not be able to find your video unless you have good tags, and a good video description (those are in the next steps). So to get back to our example instead of saying, "Fun", call it something like, "Having Fun Spear Fishing for Sharks". Not only is that more descriptive and eye grabbing, YouTube is now able to understand that the video is about sharks, spear fishing, and having fun. Now if someone searches for something similar to those words your video has a lot higher chance of being shown.
Have good tags and a good description:

As mentioned above if you don't provide YouTube with enough information about your video, you are going to have a hard time getting views. Good "tags" will not only help people be able to search for your video easier, but it will group your video with other similar videos increasing your chances of getting more views. Tags are basically keywords that tell YouTube what your video is about since they YouTube computers can't tell what your video is about since computers don't have eyes. Anyways, to create some good tags you will want to think about what people would search for to find your video. If your video is about "Lifting Weights" you will want to use tags like, "get stronger", "muscles", "weights", "biceps", "strength", etc. Don't be skimpy with these keywords and you can never really have too many. If you want a better idea about tags be sure to check out other people's videos and see what kind of tags they are using.

2) Creating Video Reviews with Affiliate Links

I'm very proud to say that I came up with this idea all on my own, and I'm even more proud to say that I make money doing it. Essentially with this method what you do is film yourself reviewing a product. There are a lot of variations since you can film yourself just talking about the product, or you can film yourself using the product, or you can just film the product. Any way you want to do it should work fine, but from previous experience the ones where you are in the video talking about the product seems to draw in more money. You'll notice me saying this a lot on the page, but like with all of the other making money strategies on YouTube steps, the hardest part is always making the video. This doesn't mean making money on YouTube is hard, it just means a lot of your effort will go into the video. So here are my 3 quick steps to making a video review and then earning revenue from your affiliate links.

Step 1: Make the Video Review

As mentioned before you can make your video reviews a number of ways, but some of the best ways is to literally have the product in your hand and just start talking about the product. So to give you an example lets say you want to make a video review about this nice camera you have. What you would do is have the camera in your hands and then you would just start talking about it. You could be holding it then point to the lens and mention that it has a great 15x optical zoom, and then talk about how you like how far it zooms. Your video shouldn't be too long, but I think somewhere between 1-5 minutes should be enough to fully cover the product without boring someone. Once your video is done make sure you title it mentioning its a product review such as,
"Canon SX10 Video Review". The reason that this part is important is that usually when people look up "product reviews" they are extremely close to making a purchase. So your goal is to make a video that has good things to say about the product to assure the viewer that they are going to make a good purchase. Now go on to the next steps to learn how to earn a commission on the viewer if they decide to buy the product.

Step 2: Find Relevant Affiliate Links/Products

If you aren't a member of any affiliate programs then I would recommend you go to our Affiliate Marketing page and sign up for some (Free to join). You have to be a member of a affiliate program to make money with this method, so make sure you are member. For this method I prefer using the Amazon Associates program. The reason I like using Amazon's affiliate program is because they have a lot of great products and it's easy to advertise them. So looking back on our camera example, I would use Amazon's program to search for the camera I'm making a video review about, and get the affiliate link. If the camera is worth like $800 and someone clicks on the link in your video description and buys the camera, you will make anywhere from $32-64 just by referring them to Amazon. So for this step it's important to make sure the product you are reviewing is found in an affiliate database (otherwise you won't make any money). Just remember to make sure the affiliate link you put in the description is relevant to your product, and as long as your video review is good it should attract some viewers and some potential buyers.

Step 3: Placing the Affiliate Link in the Video DescriptionBy this step you should have already have created and filmed a product review, it should be uploaded on YouTube with a proper title/tags, and you should have the affiliate link you want to use. Now in order to convert your YouTube viewers into profit, you will want to past the product link in your video description. Make sure you're posting the full link so that it will light up and allow people to click it. If you just past a link like: trickbuilder.blogspot.com, people won't be able to click it. You instead need to past the full link like, http://trickbuilder.blogspot.com. If done properly it should light up just like the link to the left and it and should allow people to click your affiliate link. Its also a good idea to talk a little bit more about your product after you have placed your link in the video description. Here's an example of the video description for our example camera video, "Buy the camera at: http://www.youraffiliatelink.com. This is a great camera and is the cheapest I could find online. It has a great zoom, etc...". By including extra detail people will know what the purpose of the link is, and this will hopefully result in more people wanting to click it. That's about all there is to know about making money on YouTube by placing affiliate links in your video descriptions.

3) Selling Advertising Space on your YouTube Videos

This section will be fairly short compared to the other ones mainly because there isn't any real strategy when selling your advertising space. It's also not a huge market, but I think if you have a popular enough YouTube video you will be able to make money doing it. With that being said I still think its a good method to learn because it will teach you some valuable entrepreneurial skills. So to get started you must first have a fairly popular video. When I say fairly popular I mean at least 50,000 views, but you'll most likely need at least 100,000. You're always welcome to prove me wrong, and I will applaud anyone that can sell their "Video Description Space" for revenue with less than 50,000 views. Once you have a YouTube video that is bringing in a lot of views its take to start asking around and contacting websites, businesses, etc. I wish I could provide a 3 step process or a strategy guide, but you really have to do all of this on your own. You can try contacting websites and see if they will pay you like $5 if you put their website URL in your video description.

Just remember to be persistent and keep on trying. Who knows you might get lucky and have someone offer you $100 just have you put their website link in the description. I wouldn't plan on relying on this strategy alone but if you have some good salesman skills then I'd give it a try. You also can be creative and have people pay you to talk about their website in a video. Or you can ad a companies logo in your video, or you can make a video for a website, or you can promote their website in a video. The opportunities are unlimited so its just a matter of have much you want to make money by using YouTube. 

4) Adding Song Lyrics to Music

This is another one of those creative and interesting ways to make money using YouTube. Basically what you can do is download a song, doesn't even matter if you like it or not, then add some lyrics slides, and poof you have a music video with lyrics. There are some potential copyright issues you may face but if you're video doesn't get deleted than you did it correctly. It seems like YouTube keeps on changing their policy about music so I really can't explain it too well. Anyways, all you need is a program like Movie Maker or Adobe Premiere Elements, and you just create some slides with song lyrics on them. Then you just add the song and upload it to YouTube. The lyrics obviously should have good timing and match the song. Then to make money from this song lyric video all you have to do is either put an affiliate link in the description (as mentioned above), promote your website in the description, promote anything else you want in the description, or you can use YouTube's annotation's feature which will allow you to insert text or titles on your video. You can just add a title at the top of your lyrics video saying,

5) Creating a Video Blog / Becoming a YouTube Partner

This method is pretty much hit or miss. You either will have a crappy video blog with a few followers, or you will be the next YouTube video blog star making $5,000 a month! Well those are pretty extreme, but it's mainly just to show you that you not only need to be talented but you have to be pretty lucky. Don't let that discourage you because there are plenty of people that upload videos weekly and make a nice amount of money from YouTube. Anyways a video blogger is someone who routinely uploads new videos to YouTube on different subjects. If you think about the news, you could almost consider them video bloggers because they are providing you with new information on a routine basis. A lot of video bloggers on YouTube try to cover interesting stories in the media, or they just keep uploading funny/silly videos that they make. So basically if you can acquire quite a lot of views and subscribers, and upload videos frequently, you have a chance to start making big money as becoming a You Tube partner.
What's a YouTube Partner?
A YouTube partner is someone that produces popular videos, and has been accepted as a YouTube partner. They are associated with YouTube in the sense that YouTube pays them for things like getting subscribers, views, channel views, etc. In order to become a YouTube partner you need to apply and get accepted. In order to get accepted you usually need to have all your videos with over 1,000 views. You need to produce all original content, and need to be uploading at least 1 video or week. YouTube must also like the content of your videos so if you are bashing YouTube and saying how much it sucks you probably won't get accepted. Once you have become really established on YouTube and your videos are all doing great I think it would definitely be worth your time to apply as a YouTube partner.

Money, money, and money! That's what you get if you are a YouTube partner, so I don't see why you wouldn't want to apply if you meet the criteria. When you are a YouTube partner, they have a lot of different ways for you to make money. Plus you also get to have added benefits and can make more custom channels and videos. When you are a YouTube partner here is how you earn money:

    - Every time you get someone to subscribe you earn $.05
    - For every 1,000 views you get you earn about $1-3 (Not sure on exact details)
    - Every time your channel gets a view you earn $.01
    - Every time you upload a new video you earn some money as well (Not sure exactly)
